Dynamic Widgets
In this folder you will find Dynamic Interface Elements. In other words: elements to which you can link a variable from your model. There are elements to get input from the learner (input field, radio buttons, sliders etc..) and also elements to present output to the learner (output field, graphs, thermometers, dials etc).
Adding Dynamic Widgets to an Interface
To add a Static Widget to an Interface, act as follows:
| 1. | Select the Interface in the Application window. |
| 2. | Right click and choose Edit. The interface editor will open. |
| 3. | Drag any of the Static Widgets from the Library onto the Interface. |
Modifying the properties of Dynamic Widgets
| 1. | First, you must (re) open the interface editor as described above. Then: |
| 2. | Select the element of your choice. |
| 3. | Right click and choose Properties. |
| 4. | A menu with several tab sheets will pop up. See the specific information pages of each element for information on how to fill these out. |
Different types of Dynamic Widgets
Element
Description
Action Button
A button to make the simulation perform a certain action.
Check Box
A box that once clicked on changed the value of a Boolean variable.
Dial
An element for the graphical representation of an output variable.
Gauge
Like a dial, but semicircular.
Graph
A diagram to graphically display relations between variables.
Help Button
A button that can be used to activate other interfaces or explanations.
Model Selector
A radio button which which the learner can select which model to use.
Moving Particles
A set of moving particles.
MultiView
This feature enables you to combine multiple interfaces into one.
Numerical Input
An input field for numbers.
Picture Slider
A slider for input, of which the button and background can be pictures.
Push Value
A button with which learners can set the value of a particular variable.
Radio Button
A round button with which learners can set the value of a particular variable.
Resizing Column
A single bar graph, used for graphic representation of values.
Set Value
A button with which learners can set the value of a particular variable.
Simulation Delay
To slow down dynamic simulations.
Slider
A slider with which the learner can set the value of an input variable.
Thermometer
Like a real thermometer, this element visualizes the value of the linked variable.
Value Field
An output or input text box for numbers.
Wheel
Like a slider: a way to adjust the values of input variables.
Win95 Slider
Similar to a regular slider, but with the typical Win95 look.
